How we began

Nour means light. We liked the joke of a shop by that name that helps keep it out.

We began with one thing we wanted for ourselves: a silk sleep mask that was soft, plain, and didn't look like a novelty. Then we wanted it in a colour that wasn't black, then one with more room around the eyes, then one with a pouch for travelling. That's the whole range — fifteen masks, nothing else.

We call it a journal because we keep notes as we go: how to wash silk, which shape suits which sleeper, what we change next.
